New look at massive swimming pool at Ashburn Recreation Center - The Burn

The pool builder working on the pools at the new Ashburn Recreation & Community Center has shared some photos of the progress — and the natatorium looks absolutely huge.

Main Line Commercial Pools is building two pools, a spa, and an outdoor splash pad at the new county facility under construction off Broadlands Boulevard in Ashburn.

It’s going in right by the Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm restaurant, if that helps you pinpoint the spot. Some locals may forget its there as many of the views of it are obscured by trees.

Main Line reports that tile work is underway on the pools and plaster work should be starting soon.

Construction on the center started in the summer of 2022 and is expected to be “substantially completed” by next summer — in 2025.

When finished, the 117,000 s.f. two-story facility will feature a 50-meter competition swimming pool, a leisure pool, a spa, a full-size gymnasium, a soft sensory play room, a multipurpose room with a kitchen, classrooms, offices, and meeting spaces.

There will also be a basketball gym with six hoops and line markings for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball.

The second floor will have fitness areas, a running track, and seating areas for the pool.

Outside there will be a multi-use trail circling the property, a large courtyard, a splash play area, and a playground.
